Back in 1958 a few over a thousand pieces were produced. This re-edition from 2016 is just as rare and was damn hard to get when it came out. If you see the looks of it, it’s not hard to understand why. They did a pretty good job creating the feeling a model with a history like this should give you.
Jaeger Geophysic E168
The 50’s was important for scientific explorations and expeditions to the most extreme parts of the world. These explorers were respected people and relied on sturdy watches. Jaeger-LeCoultre wanted to contribute to these fascinating professionals by launching the Geophysic in 1958, during the first international Geophysical year. A proud moment in the history of the brand as it was used in the first (three day) submersion from one ocean to another via the most direct route, underneath the ice sheet covering the arctic.
