Equal parts haute horlogerie and haute joaillerie. One hundred percent awe-inspiring.When you’ve been in this business for so long, few things leave you awestruck. This Audemars Piguet masterpiece is one of them. Part of AP’s haute joaillerie line of high-jewelry gem set watches, this ref. 14957BC is both a conversation starter and a conversation ender. The ref. 14957 takes the classic round dress watch to a whole new plane. The 36.5 mm 18k white-gold case features a sumptuous gem-set bezel consisting of 32 prong-set, brilliant-cut diamonds. The creative exposed prong setting gives an illusion of tiny spider legs gripping the case when viewed from the side. The case, in turn, is connected to an integrated 18k white-gold beads of rice bracelet with two strands of brilliant-cut diamonds covering the length of the bracelet. The automatic movement runs on a caliber 2120.Of course, a fully gem-set watch requires an equally impressive dial. The ref. 14957 doesn’t disappoint in that department either as it features a fully diamond paved dial that receives an injection of colour through the application of vibrant green emerald indices. This exquisite gem-set creation is in excellent condition and dates back to 1995. The watch comes with an extract of the Audemars Piguet archives and official service papers.

Introduction

Audemars PiguetAudemars Piguet is among the holy trinity Swiss maisons d’horlogerie alongside Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. Audemars Piguet has a storied history of producing high-complication watches. It all started in 1875, when Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet founded the company in the heart of the Vallée de Joux, Le Brassus, Switzerland. This pure, rough and wild landscape, with deep, dark forests, ice-cold waters and the omnipresence of rocks and hills, provided inspiration and raw materials for the Swiss watch manufacture to develop the finest watches. Since its inception, Audemars Piguet has specialized in rare, valuable and highly-complicated watches like perpetual calendars, chronographs and chiming watches. Nowadays, the emphasis of Audemars Piguet lies on the iconic Royal Oak line.
