Rolex Datejust 16030 ‘Buckley Dial’ Full Set
We have bought this Rolex Datejust from a gentleman who had inherited the watch from his father who was the first owner. Both gentlemen were very careful with the watch and only wore it on special occasions. This is the exact same reason that this watch has barely been used, is still in crisp condition and comes as a full set. Even though we don’t give a flying f*ck about box and papers, this is a collector’s set and that we can appreciate.
The watch comes with the green inner box and ‘sea horse’ outer box. The sea horse box is a type of outer box that Rolex used during the ’80s and it’s called this way because… Well, just look at the picture. Even more, the outer box has the original stickers with the serial number, product code from the dealer and a white, round sticker that indicates the colour of the dial. The watch comes with the small green Rolex map that has a sticker with the serial number on it in exactly the same font as the sticker on the outer box. The watch has its original booklets, calendar card (years 1981, 1982) and warranty card. The warranty certificate has a gold Rolex sticker with the reference (16030) on it, the serial number is punched in the top right corner and the card is signed. According to the warranty, the watch was sold in 1982 in The Hague, the Netherlands. Finally, the tags are present and contain stickers with the serial number (again, in the same font) and product code. Now, this is what we call a full set!
This Rolex Datejust reference 16030 dates back to 1982 and runs on the calibre 3035. The watch has a stainless steel engine-turned bezel and comes in with a perfect diameter of 36 mm. What makes this watch extra cool is the ‘Buckley’ dial: a white dial with black-painted Roman numerals and matching black hands. This Datejust is strapped on a Jubilee bracelet. The case, bezel and bracelet are in really sharp condition making this watch a true collector’s piece.
