Pretty excited to offer you this pre-Daytona from 1965 with the rare and collectible grey metal dial (not the less valuable silvered dial).
Historically important model, being the father of the Rolex Cosmograph Daytona as we know it today. This is the last line of watches that didn’t bear a model name but it’s known among collectors as the ‘pre-Daytona’. We can clearly see the inspiration for the Daytona taken from the second series of the 6238 (the first series from 61/62 looked more like a 6234); same case-size, baton hands, pushers and crown. It also is powered by a Valjoux.
This model is produced in various dial colours and in both gold as in steel. It is believed only 2 or 3000 pieces of the 6238 were ever made making it a very rare and collectible watch. Above all it is a very attractive watch.
