When you think of a yellow gold, diamond-set Day-Date you won't immediately think of this exceptionally rare Audemars Piguet. This charming piece definitely belongs to the more extravagant side of AP.
The ref. 25676BA combines the display of the time with a day, date and moon phase complication. All of this mechanical beauty is powered by an automatic movement. The porcelain dial is very well balanced because of the day and date subdials at the 3 and 9 o'clock position, while the moon phase display sits at the 6 o'clock position. The day and date subdials are slightly lower, giving a lot of depth to the dial. Also the finishing of the porcelain, gives an enamel-like charm. Text is executed in black, whilst the details such as the applied AP logo and hour markers are made of yellow gold. Because porcelain is such a fragile material, many have been replaced during service. Whilst this example has a small mark between the 10 and 11 o'clock position, we think it is rather impressive the original dial is still there.
The 18k yellow gold case is finished with a stunning factory diamond-setting on the bezel and lugs. The original five-piece link bracelet, crafted from the same alloy, is also set with spectacular diamonds. When putting the watch on your wrist, you will also see that even the clasp is set with the same gem stones.
We did our very best, finding another example online but did not succeed. As far as we know, this is the very first ref. 25676 ever up for sale in this execution. It therefore might also be the last time in a while, you can get the chance of owning this rare gem. This charming piece is from 1988 and comes with the Extract from the Archives.
