Number 0001 of only 3 known examples of reference 7298. factory-set Cartier Santos in three shades of gold.

On the caseback, it reads 72980001. The first four digits denote its reference number, one previously unknown to the market and believed to have been produced in just three pieces. With this being number 1!

At its core, it shares DNA with the Santos 2960, but here elevated to an entirely different level of opulence. The bracelet is a technical and aesthetic marvel: crafted in yellow, white, and rose gold, with alternating yellow- and rose-gold bars set with brilliant-cut diamonds. These are ingeniously slid into a white-gold base and secured with screws; a construction as daring as it is extravagant.

This trinity theme continues into the case itself: yellow-gold case body, pink-gold bezel, and white-gold screws. All factory set, just like crown and its guarde. Completing the design is a pavé-set dial with a cartouche proudly bearing the Cartier signature.

Dating to circa 1990, the watch is accompanied by its original documents and box. Its condition remains remarkably well-preserved, with only two small imperfections to note: a missing section of the clasp logo and one absent screw.

A true unicorn in the Santos lineage; as rare as it is flamboyant.
