The 3712 was introduced in 2005 and this was the first complicated Nautilus. It was only produced for 12 months when in 2006 it got replaced by the reference 5712. According to many collectors, the 5712, is the better and updated version of the 3712.So, what are exactly the differences? Well, both watches look very similar and show the date, moonphase and power reserve. The 5712 uses the new 'Jumbo' case, which was also used for the 5711. This case is thicker, more rounded, larger and is constructed of three parts. Furthermore, the dial has been adjusted too: the horizontal embossed bars are less wide, the hour markers are different and the 7-hour marker is not even present because of a larger moon phase and date counter. Furthermore, the power reserve indicator has four red dots instead of three and the date numbers on the lower half of the date counter are reversed for better reading. Concluded, we can argue that the 5712 is the cleaner, better version. Especially the example we have on offer, which dates back to 2012 and comes as a full set.Since its introduction, the design has remained the same. The case measures 40 mm in diameter and is approximately 8.5 mm thick. It has the octagonal-shaped bezel with a brushed finish and high-polished edges and the well-known integrated Nautilus bracelet. The sapphire crystal caseback displays the beautifully-finished Patek Philippe caliber 240 PS IRM C LU. The asymmetrical dial gives the watch personality and is in a strange way simply beautiful.
