The 182XX references were replaced by the 1182XX references in 2000. This watch was equipped with the caliber 3155, which was the same as its predecessor's. Furthermore, it had an improved clasp and bracelet which is more durable and less likely to get any stretch over the years.
The Day-Date comes in many varieties. The reference 118209 indicates that it comes in white gold (9) and has a domed bezel (0). Instead of a President bracelet like most Day-Dates, it comes on a very sophisticated, 18k white-gold Oyster bracelet with concealed clasp. This bracelet was only made for this reference and is not in production anymore. Underneath the sapphire crystal we’ll find a clean black dial which is probably the best possible execution of this reference.
A truly understated Day-Date in a beautiful condition which will probably only catch the eyes of real connoisseurs.

Rolex Day-DateThe very essence of luxurious time-keeping, provided with a day and date function. It was launched in 1956 as a niche model and was only produced in precious metals (yellow-, white- and rosegold or platinum). Its retail price was way costlier than any other Rolex model. However, due to its popularity among a lot of prestigious people, for example presidents (hence, its nickname), it became Rolex’ flagship model. Over the years this model has enjoyed associations with a wide variety of people, from world leaders, athletes, celebrities and mafiosi (like Tony Soprano).
