Released in the 70s, the Cartier Bamboo Coussin is a perfect reflection of the decade’s interesting taste and design.

Some dub it the next big thing in Cartier; there is no way around the Bamboo Coussin anymore. If you thought the Crash caused a hype, buckle up for the exploding interest in the 78102. Not many have been produced in the funky era, but more recently some start to pop up at auction; fetching very serious prices.

What is not to like? It sports many characteristic features of Cartier, like the Railroad minutetrack, the cabochon sapphire in the crown, the blued sword hands and the rectangular shape of the Tank. However, with one big distinction: the design provides a new perspective on the Cartier Watch bezel with its inclusion of sectioned portions, much like the look of bamboo, hence the name. This is not the only model with this plant resemblance, we have previously sold a Baignoire Bamboo, but definitely the one to have right now. Unlike the previously mentioned model, this Coussin features a mechanic movement.

The one we have on offer has been very well preserved and still comes with the original gold Cartier buckle. The dial is clean and the case show the lines of the design very strongly. It has been fully overhauled by Cartier and we have added our own strap to the mix, so it is ready to be enjoyed by the next tasteful collector.
