Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar 25820SP Full Set

The Royal Oak is not a stranger in our midst. Even more, this model has reversed the entire Swiss watch industry during the ‘70s, is one of the most iconic and distinguishable watches ever made and according to many aficionados worldwide it is the ultimate grail watch.

The piece we have for offer, however, is very different compared to your ‘standard’ Royal Oak. This is a Perpetual Calendar – or as Audemars Piguet refers to it: Quantieme Perpetual – which means it recognizes different month lengths and leap years. The silver-toned tapisserie dial features a perpetual calendar (three sub dials) and a moonphase (one sub dial). In this case, it goes by the reference 28520SP. SP standing for the fact that the watch is bimetal and made from steel and platinum. This reference was first introduced in 1996 in a limited batch of 25 pieces.

The watch we can offer you dates, according to the Extracts from the Archives, back to 2003. The 39mm-measuring case is made from steel, the bezel is made from 950 platinum and the bracelet is made from steel and platinum. It runs on the self-winding caliber 2120/2802. What we think is very cool about this piece, is the sapphire crystal caseback, which shows the astonishing movement and the rotor with the black-brushed finish. And finally, for all you box-and-paper addicts, it comes as a full set.
