The Cintrée was already bold. Cartier just made it bolder. The Tank Cintrée Dual Time is the perfect example: a watch that ignores symmetry, embraces curvature, and puts two mechanical movements on one wrist—without ever losing its elegance.
This reference 1060 was produced for the French market around 1990, as indicated by the “259-90” case engraving—the final two digits referring to the production year. Powered by twin hand-wound ETA 2412 calibers, it was designed for the sophisticated globe-trotter: two separate time zones, controlled by two crowns, each topped with a sapphire cabochon. The upper dial bears the classic Roman numerals of the Tank. The lower: Roman quarters and painted batons, signed ‘Paris’ just above 6 o’clock, with the Cartier signature positioned between the two dials.
The curved 18K yellow gold case is what makes this piece truly special. Its long, flowing form hugs the wrist with surprising grace, but what sets this example apart is the condition. Simply put, it’s exceptional. The caseback engravings are razor-sharp. The French eagle head hallmarks—used to certify 18K gold—are deep, crisp, and fully legible. You’ll find them exactly where they should be: on the case, and even on the original Cartier buckle. These hallmarks are usually the first to fade with wear or careless polishing. Not here.
Plenty were lost to time, wear, and polishing wheels. What’s left is worth waiting for—and this one proves it.
