The Tonneau has become one of our favourite Cartier watches. In our opinion it's just a portrayal of an elevated style.

This reference 2435 dates back to the mid '90s, so it is quite a young specimen as this model has been around for more than a century. The case has the largest dimensions for this models, therefore very much suitable for gentlemen, but wears very elegant thanks to the slim, curvy shape that fits neatly to the wrist.

This example is very special as it is executed in platinum. The dial, which is protected by a sapphire crystal, is typically Cartier; white with large, Black Roman numerals and blue hands. There are multiple known iterations of this ref and this has a finely guilloche dial with the word 'Paris' above the 6 o'clock marker. The time is displayed by beautifully blued sword hands, matching the sapphire in the crown.

The watch comes on an original black alligator-leather strap from Cartier in black with the original Platinum deployment buckle. Furthermore it has just received a full service at Richemont and comes with corresponding service papers and international guarantee.
