The Tonneau has become one of our favourite Cartier watches. In our opinion it's just a portrayal of an elevated style.

This reference 2435E dates back to the early 2000s, so it is quite a young specimen as this model has been around for more than a century. The case has the largest dimensions for this models, therefore very much suitable for gentlemen, but wears very elegant thanks to the slim, curvy shape that fits neatly to the wrist.

This example is very special as it is executed in platinum. The dial, which is protected by a sapphire crystal, is typically Cartier; white with large, Black Roman numerals and blue hands. There are multiple known iterations of this ref and this has a deep guilloche "CPCP-style" dial with the word 'Paris' below the brand-name. At 6 o'clock it proudly shows the brands country as it reads: "Made in France". The time is displayed by elegantly shaped hands that are blued and therefore matching the colour of the sapphire in the crown.

The watch comes on an original burgundy alligator-leather strap from Cartier in black with the original Platinum deployment buckle. Since it belongs to the Collection Privée Cartier Paris, it has a superior movement: Cal. 9790MC. The condition is still very strong.
