A combination of many familiar designs put in to one exceptional watch.

George Beard was taken on once the The Kirby, Beard & Co enterprise moved its way to London, after it entered its partnership with Richard Cowcher from Glouchester and Robert Kirby back in 1803. The young apprentice who slowly scaled the hierarchies, carving out a managing role in the company. In 1823 the company took the name of Cowcher, Kirby & Beard and not until 1940, after the abandonment of Richard Cowcher, that the name of Kirby, Beard & Co came in to existence and remained that way until 1970.

Its main place of business, despite its British origins, was on Rue Auber, in Paris, which opened in 1878 and was sadly destroyed by the Luftwaffe during the Second World War and remained active even after the bombings and destruction of the building. They started off with production of needles and pins, but not long after that they started trading watches

This watch represents a decidedly rare and unusual piece, understandable perhaps only by some connoisseurs but absolutely worthy of being appreciated by anyone who has the chance to admire it. This specimen is made in the 80's by an Artisan in Paris in very small numbers.

The dial has two dial layouts; one with Arabic numerals and one with Roman numerals. This creates a wonderful contrast between the beautiful dial layout and the stunning rectangular yellow-gold case which is in great condition. Other peculiarities are the two crowns to set the time positioned at 12 and 6 o’clock, in contrast with those that have always been the characteristic of Dual-Time watches. Another star of the show is the stunning yellow-gold tiled bracelet. The watch runs on the manual caliber 5 1/2'.
