One of the most elegant configurations we have seen 'to date'. Pun intended.
This stunning early-70s Day-Date, reference 1803, is an absolute beauty. The 36 mm Oyster case houses the caliber 1556 and on top of that automatic movement sits this beautiful matte black dial that has no blemishes. In our humble opinion nothing quite beats the black on gold contrast. This matte dial has a pretty uncommon configuration with no dashes between the 'Oyster Perpetual' and the 'Day Date'. The lume in the hands are original and perfectly matching the plots on the dial, which are all intact.
This 'four-digit' Day-Date dates back to 1973 and is in great shape all around. The 18k yellow gold President bracelet with hidden folded clasp has little to no stretch. The case has thick lugs and the fluted bezel is still sharp. The original day and date discs are still installed and have turned to a lovely golden hue. But most importantly, an absolute no-nonsense Day-Date in a wonderful, not often seen, configuration.
