What's not to love about this Day-Date reference 1807 from 1973?This Day-Date carries reference 1807 what tells us we're dealing with a 'Bark finish'. The watch runs on caliber 1556, has the magnificent case size of 36 millimeter and is made out of 18k yellow gold. When you take a look at this watch's President bracelet you'll see that the Bark finish center links still have its very sharp pattern. The bracelet does have some very minor stretch but is probably never polished. When we take a closer look at the watch we'll see the plexi glass where under we'll find the distinguishing, grey, pie-pan dial. Also all the tritium plots are sill intact what makes this watch an absolute no-brainer to us!
Introduction
Rolex Day-DateThe very essence of luxurious time-keeping, provided with a day and date function. It was launched in 1956 as a niche model and was only produced in precious metals, the retail price was way costlier than previous models. However, due to its popularity among a lot of prestigious people (for example a lot of Presidents, hence its nickname/ bracelet name), it became Rolex’ flagship model.Over the years this model enjoyed associations with various ‘kinds of people’, from celebrities to Mafiosi (like Tony Soprano). They had all one thing in common: being successful in their area of expertise. To this day the Day-date is still synonymous with prestige and style. With exception of the most modern models the Day-Date comes in at 36mm.
