Off-the-beaten-path-ref. 18148 never disappoints; and this specimen -where the baguette set dial matches the rubies in the bezel- is no exception to that.

Watches like these usualy weren't lingering in dealer displays but had to be ordered by dealers form Rolex HQ. So if one where to order an 18148 (known for the gems bezel) it is more the rule rather than an exception that the dial was also something special. Enter this full baguette set dial. This champagne dial was made by Beyeler in very small quantity. Another example of this dial was sold by Phillips: from the same period but features a Khanjar crest, so an order by the Sultanate of Oman. Again, this emphasises this isn't your "middle-of-the-mall" Day-Date, so it should not come as a surprise that the clientele too is exceptional. The gentleman who ordered this piece remains unknown, but given the Chinese discs, most likely is originating from Asia.

Powered by the caliber 3055 automatic movement with a single-quickset function. The watch is in wonderful condition with a sharp case and tight 18k yellow-gold President bracelet with the iconic Rolex concealed clasp.
