Introduction

A Rolex Day-Date from 1990 in a NOS condition with box and papers is rare. But to have one with a smooth bezel and Riveted Oyster bracelet (ref. 18208)... Pieces like this don't come across very often and I would like to express and share our joy that this pieces landed in our store. Oh wait I almost forgot about the dial! This presidential watch has a superb and uncommon dial carved out of the hard stone Jasper. The green variant with red specks is better known under the name Bloodstone. Although this example has very little red details, we included a picture of another Bloodstone dial we sold earlier on as reference and for comparison. (see last picture) This current example however, has a bright deep green colour, one might even call it "Rolex green". It really pops of your wrist as it is enhanced by the unpolished case and stretch free bracelet. It even still has its green sticker on the back!

Description

Rolex Day-DateThe very essence of luxurious time-keeping, provided with a day and date function. It was launched in 1956 as a niche model and was only produced in precious metals, the retail price was way costlier than previous models. However, due to its popularity among a lot of prestigious people (for example a lot of Presidents, hence its nickname/ bracelet name), it became Rolex’ flagship model.Over the years this model enjoyed associations with various ‘kinds of people’, from celebrities to Mafiosi (like Tony Soprano). They had all one thing in common: being successful in their area of expertise. To this day the Day-date is still synonymous with prestige and style. With exception of the most modern models the Day-Date comes in at 36mm. Do you earn this watch?
