This wonderful Day-Date ref. 18238 is definitely not your average, even though its case and President bracelet are crafted from 18k yellow gold.

Lapis Lazuli has been used as the base of the dial, a stunning natural stone with a recognizable deep blue color and subtle pyrite inclusion within the stone. Because the biggest part of this face is created by nature, every stone dial has a unique pattern by default. Depending on the light, the beauty can be admired and has so many different appeals. This charming Day-Date has two very charming factory-set indices on the 6 and 9 o'clock position, showing the number in yellow gold with a diamond setting within the numbers. At the 12 o'clock position the French day disc can be admired, surrounded by a beautiful yellow gold aperture. At the 3 o'clock, the date is displayed having a window in the same style maintaining the iconic Day-Date look.

The ref. 18238 is the first reference in Day-Date history, having a double quick-set movement. This updated caliber 3155 allows you to set the day and date complication independently. The Oyster case itself remained sharp over the years, the same can be said about the timeless President bracelet. The dial is all period correct, since this configuration is only produced with the 'Swiss Made' signature. Due to its fragility, it is very hard to find an uncracked stone dial. However this breathtaking Lapis dial remains uncracked and in pristine condition.

We just think the blue Lapis dial works so well with the yellow gold appeal of this piece. This 1991 example is ready to shine on your wrist.
