Sure, they were not the only proud wearers as this watch has been sported by many government leaders, athletes, entrepreneurs, musicians and artists. The Day-Date is just the perfect choice for any person that has success! The Rolex Day-Date was the first automatic, waterproof chronometer wristwatch that indicated the date and the day of the week. The 18200-series, the fifth generation of Day-Dates, were introduced in 1988 and housed the caliber 3155, which means that these pieces have a double quickset-function.
The Day-Date is only available in precious metals and this piece offered by Amsterdam Vintage Watches exists out of all three of them! So, the President bracelet is made of 18k white gold, 18k yellow gold and 18k rose gold while the 36mm case is built in white gold and the bezel is from yellow gold. Why? Well, during the eighties the blend of gold was considered very stylish and this was Rolex's answer to this hype. However, instead of blending the different types of gold, the center links of the bracelet consist of five lines of gold running through the entire length of the bracelet. Nevertheless, the Tridor has the reference 18239 just like the 18k white-gold, double-quickset Day-Date. The bracelet is in excellent condition and the watch has barely been polished. The dial is quite unique too as this Day-Date has the Jubilee dial. It is protected by a sapphire crystal, which gives the watch a modern, fresh look. This piece dates back to '89 and approximately ten years later Rolex discontinued the production of the Tridor.
