Rolex GMT-Master 1675 ‘MK IV’

During its production of roughly twenty years, the Rolex GMT-Master reference 1675 has been subject to various alterations on both, an aesthetic and technological level. Especially, the dial underwent evident adjustments.

This type of dial is an MK IV and features a tall, small-based coronet. Furthermore, the word ‘ROLEX’ has wider serifs and the word ‘Oyster Perpetual’ doesn’t have serifs at all. Finally, the right vertical line in the second ‘M’ of the word ‘GMT-Master’ falls on top of the middle of the ‘C’ in ‘Chronometer’, which is not the case for later MK’s. The MK IV has the widest-encountered serial range and we see this type of dial during the ’70s with some exceptional years, like 1977, when the ‘Radial Dial’ appeared on the market. The one we have on offer dates back to ’78 and falls in the serial range of 5.8 million. The plots have taken on a creamy shade of patina. The watch is completely original with a Pepsi bezel that has discoloured to light-blue and pink. What is more, the bezel has a red back inlay, which indicates that it is the original inlay and not a service one (which has a blue back inlay). The stainless steel case measures 40 mm and houses the caliber 1570. It comes on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet.
