The GMT-Master 1675 with blue-rouge or 'Pepsi' bezel is one the most enigmatic watches from Rolex’ vast catalogue.
This ref. 1675 from 1972 has everything we love about vintage GMTs. The aluminum Pepsi bezel is still in a very strong blue and red color and with it being a 'red back' bezel it tells us it is still the original one. The matte black dial is still very strong with the painted tritium markers having turned to a beautiful warm and creamy tone, matching perfectly with the hands.
This reference 1675 GMT comes with a so-called ‘Mk1' dial or better known as a 'Long E' dial. The distinguishing characteristic of these dials is that the letter ‘E’ in the word ROLEX features an extra long middle bar. Another rarely seen feature of this specimen is the GMT hand. As you can see it is completely red across all borders, also referred to as an 'All Red GMT hand'. A very rare and cool feature adding to the originality of this watch making it a stunning example.
Since this GMT-Master is considered a true tool watch, we often come across them in pover conditions and with a lot of wear, from the years that have passed, and as a result are over polished quite often. The 40 mm steel case on this 1675 is still very thick and sharp. The accompanying, original folded Oyster bracelet is in great condition as well, displaying only very light stretch. The combination of the charismatic bezel insert, beautiful dial and sharp case makes this 1675 the perfect vintage GMT for any vintage watch lover.
