Everything about this beautiful 'Pepsi' GMT-Master says it's a Mark 1, except for one 'small' detail.

This ref. 1675 from 1967 has everything we love about vintage GMT's. The aluminum ‘Pepsi’ bezel has faded from its original bleu/ rouge color scheme to a denim blue and light red combo. The matte black dial has turned to a lovely lighter black hue. The painted tritium hour markers are in flawless condition, having attained a light creamy tone, which nicely matches with the handset.

More importantly, this watch is one of the first examples of a GMT with matte dial. These early matte dials are referred to as ‘Mark 1’ dials and are characterized by a peculiar letter “E” in the word Rolex that features an extra long middle bar. However like the titel mentions, this example is often referred to as a 'Mark 0.5'. How can you tell you may ask? Well by the very cool 'small arrow GMT-hand' and another known character for this generation is a different luminescent material. When you expose this dial to a UV light it will still show a strong green lume.

Tool watches like the GMT often experience quite a bit of wear over the years but this example remains in a very good condition. The accompanying, original riveted Oyster bracelet, with 7206 stamp and 80 end links, is in good condition as well, showing only little stretch. This 1675 is the perfect vintage GMT for your daily wearing and it's a cool transitional reference which sets you apart from all others.
