Sturdy and stylish; we all like the Milgauss reference 1019, regardless if you are into modern or vintage Rolex. Let alone in this condition.
The Milgauss is one of the four legendary toolwatches introduced by Rolex in the 1950s, alongside the Submariner, Explorer, and GMT-Master. The Milgauss was one of the very first watches able to withstand intense magnetic fields, making it especially useful for scientists and engineers working in medical facilities, power plants, and laboratories.
Introduced in the sixties, the 1019 is the successor to the exceedingly rare 6541 and 6543 Milgauss references. The steel case which measures a sleek 38mm in diameter, is very thick and even shows the original chamfered edges; just the way we like it. With its domed bezel, it just gives this reference an elegant and modern look.
Behind the plexi-crystal sits the stunning matte-black dial which has remained in a 'new-old-stock' condition. An absolutely astonishing sight and complimented very well with the cool cigarette hands. The hands are filled with tritium lume which has remained in a nice pearly white over the course of time and matches perfectly with the indices. The funky red-tipped, arrowhead, seconds-hand is a beautiful compliment to the red font "Milgauss" text on the dial. All this beauty is carried by a stainless steel Oyster bracelet which shows little to no stretch.
Whether you are an aspiring scientist or an avid watch aficionado. This no-nonsense 1019 with black dial which has remained in a mostly unused condition over the past half-a-century; is the watch for you.
