he Submariner 5513 was produced between 1962 until 1989 and has seen many interesting variations, one of them being the "non-serif" dial.

This is a perfectly functioning Rolex Submariner reference 5513 that dates back to the year 1976. It is made from stainless steel and runs on the calibre 1520, which is not chronometer certified and therefore the dial bears 2 lines of text (instead of 4-line chronometer dials).

The watch features a 'Non Serif' dial, which is a type of dial that was introduced late 1969 right after 'Meters First' dials got replaced by the 'Feet First' dials. Basically, it means that the 3-, 6- and 9-hour markers are perfectly shaped rectangles and lack serifs. Furthermore, 'Non Serif' dials (strangely enough) have serifs in the letter 'E' in 'Rolex' right under the coronet as opposed to 'Serif' dials that don't have serifs in the 'E'. Confusing, right? What counts, however, is that this piece is beautiful, and well preserved. The tritium in the hands and dial turned into an appealing wam cream colour and match perfectly with the discoloured insert with blue hue.
