We love us some Royal Oaks, but make no mistake, Audemars Piguet had been making amazing dress watches for a good hundred years before the Royal Oak was even born. This white gold diamond-set is an excellent case in point.Yellow gold, leather strap, and understated is what typically comes to mind when you think of a classic dress watch. Not today though. Audemars Piguet took the classic thin round dress watch and dipped it into a giant vat of nitrogen to produce this exceptional iced-out beauty. The watch looks like a traditional dress watch with its classic 33 mm size and thin profile. Yet due to the use of an 18k white gold case and a super smooth woven 18k white gold integrated bracelet, the watch takes on an ultra cool look. These icy vibes are complemented by the minimalist satin brushed silver dial and the trios of brilliant cut diamonds at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions. While most high-end vintage dress watches run on manual winding movements, this baby has all the comforts of a modern watch due to the implementation of an automatic movement. The watch date snack to the 1980s and is in excellent condition.

Introduction

Audemars PiguetAudemars Piguet is among the holy trinity Swiss maisons d’horlogerie alongside Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. Audemars Piguet has a storied history of producing high-complication watches. It all started in 1875, when Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet founded the company in the heart of the Vallée de Joux, Le Brassus, Switzerland. This pure, rough and wild landscape, with deep, dark forests, ice-cold waters and the omnipresence of rocks and hills, provided inspiration and raw materials for the Swiss watch manufacture to develop the finest watches. Since its inception, Audemars Piguet has specialized in rare, valuable and highly-complicated watches like perpetual calendars, chronographs and chiming watches. Nowadays, the emphasis of Audemars Piguet lies on the iconic Royal Oak line.
