We rarely offer pieces outside of our usual quartet of watch brands (Patek Philippe, Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Cartier). But if a beautiful complicated dress watch from one of the oldest and most historically significant watch houses isn’t a worthy exception, then we really don’t know what is.
This classy dress watch from the mid-1990s features all the hallmarks we’ve come to love about Breguet. Executed in 18k yellow gold, the 35.5 round case sports a bold convex bezel, delicate straight lugs, and a coin-edge patterned mid-section. The elegant small crown, meanwhile, is topped with a blue sapphire, reminiscent of the crown found on many Cartier creations.
The white dial features a beautiful and intricate hand-turned guilloché pattern. The time can be read on a sub-dial—consisting of two silver rings with Roman numerals—with the help of the characteristic heat blued Breguet hands (also known as observatoire hands). Meanwhile, three sub-registers display the various complications this watch has to offer. At the 12 o’clock position, a charming moon phase function can be found, while twin butterfly-style apertures at the 10 and 2 positions display the day and date functionality.
This beautiful complicated dress watch dates back to the '90s and comes on one of our black alligator leather straps with an 18k yellow gold Breguet folding clasp. The watch has just returned from a full service at Breguet, ensuring that it is in perfect working order as well, as attested to by the accompanying service papers.
