Another "first" for our company as we are offering this exquisite Chopard. It was kept in Jasper his private collection for a while, after he spent some time with Juan Garcia for a factory visit (check out that video here:

We are happy to enlighten you why Jasper, and many other horological enthusiasts, adore this specific model of one of the last family owned companies. The reference refers to the birth of Chopard: 1860, that is how important this model is. But we will start with another year: 1996.

In 1996 Chopard launched their first in-house automatic LUC movement: cal 1.96! They already started developing this caliber 3 years prior with no other than Michel Parmigiani. It was worth the wait: a thin, modern and decorated automatic movement with micro-rotor. In case of our example, a micro-rotor in platinum (yellow gold examples have a 22k gold micro-rotor).

After a quick look under the hood we continue with the case of this beautiful watch. A sleek and classic shape with perfect proportions and a timeless 37 mm diameter. Most 1860's are conceived in yellow gold, we have a slightly rarer 18k white gold execution. To top it off: a factory set diamond bezel!

Even though the charming bezel assures a spark in your eye, the dial actually takes the cake. It might look familiar if you are into high-horology and know Philippe Dufour. Although those watches are in a different price range, they do feature the same dial maker: Metelem. The art of guilloche is truly captivated in this dial with a very balanced lay-out so you will not lose focus on the centre. Merely a small seconds at 6 o'clock and a refined date function integrated. The gold markers as well as the hands are elegantly faceted. The outer side of the dial has a smooth surface. All in all it's safe to conclude it is a pretty perfect dresswatch.

It comes on a matte black alligator strap with white gold Chopard buckle. Furthermore it is fully serviced by Chopard and comes with a handy travel pouch.
