Because steel is today’s gold. This IWC with reference 810A dates back to 1964 and is in perfect condition. The watch has a case size of 34 millimeter, is made out of stainless steel and comes with a black oistrich leather strap. The watch runs on IWC’s caliber 854.This timepiece looks really sharp and has a beautiful silvered dial including tritium plots at the ends of the yellow gold applied ‘baton’ hour markers and tritium hands. The watch has the original ‘fish crown’ so there is a little fish on top of the crown. This doesn’t shows that the watch was water resistant as many people think but is just a denotation for an original steel crown on the ref. 810A for that period. This watch may not have the most distinctive or outrageous looks but definitely is a beautiful and stylish daily beater. So no reason to not pick up this stainless steel stunner.

Introduction

International Watch Co.In 1868 Florentine Aristo Jones, an engineer from Boston started International Watch Co. in Shaffhausen, far away from the “watch centre” in the western of Swiss. He started the company near a hydroelectric power station to provide his machines of power so he could carry out his passion to make one of the world’s finest mechanical watches. As a result of their perfected craftmanship, the internal vocational training for their watchmakers and their refusal to do massproduction, IWC still makes not only one of the world’s finest, but also one of the world’s most stylish dress watches.
