Named after the Calatrava cross, the symbol of the medieval Spanish Military Order of Calatrava and Patek Philippe's corporate emblem, this watch is the blueprint for every dress watch that came after it.The reference 6000R is a modern take on Patek’s iconic round dress watch. Nowadays, the classic Calatrava size (ranging from 31–33.5 mm) is often viewed as too small by Patek’s clientele. While we disagree with this, the increased case size of the 6000R offers a more contemporary look while retaining the classic silhouette of the Calatrava.The 6000R features an 18k rose-gold case with a wide convex polished rose-gold bezel. The chocolate brown dial consists of several concentric rings that display the various functions of the watch. The outer chapter ring features a date display that can be read with the red crescent-tipped hand. An inner circle displays the hours in bold white Arabic numerals, while the minutes can be read off the black and white railroad minute track. Finally, a charming off centre sub-seconds dial is incorporated between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions.This 6000R dates back to 2012 and runs on the 240 PS C caliber automatic movement that can be viewed through the sapphire display case back. The watch comes on an elegant chocolate brown alligator leather Patek Philippe strap with an 18k rose-gold Patek Philippe folding clasp, as well as the original box and papers.
