Crest dials were primarily made for the Arab market from the '50s to the '80s and are dials with military insignas on it.

The stainless steel case of this reference 1500 measures 34 mm in diameter, which is slightly smaller than most men's models, such as the Datejust and Day-Date. However, thanks to its no-nonsense design, it is an impressive and very masculine timepiece. While we mostly see the Rolex Date on an Oyster bracelet, this one comes on a stainless steel Jubilee bracelet. This is something we think is very cool! Furthermore, this 1500, dating back to 1975, also has a stunning Abu Dhabi Military crest dial, which makes this simple, yet special, watch just a little bit more unique.

Introduction

Rolex DateAs many of you would probably know, Rolex was the first watchmaker who created a full water- and dustproof case in the year 1926, twenty-one years after de foundation of the company. The innovation that actually led to the creation of this case was Rolex’s patented screw down crown in combination with its two-piece screw-down case. This was the start of the Oyster series. It certainly lives up to its name because the watch is waterproof like an actual oyster that protects its pearl from seawater. This attribute protects the movement of the wristwatch. Later, the Date function on the dial was added, which was the birth of the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date.
