A 34 mm Date, however, is the perfect alternative for those looking for a slightly more modest full gold Rolex (inasfar a gold Rolex can be considered modest).This ref. 15238 dates back to 1990 and combines the best of modern and vintage Rolex. The sapphire crystal and automatic movement with quickset date function are decidedly modern. The watch, however, comes on an amazing gold riveted Oyster bracelet with massive endlinks. While steel riveted Oysters were discontinued in the 1960s (and the last ones were delivered in the USA in the late 1970s), gold riveted Oysters were made long after that. The bracelet’s dimensions, tapering from 19mm at the lug to a svelte 13.5mm at the clasp, further add to its elegant look. If all that wasn’t enough, the watch comes with a blue sunbrushed dial.
