By now, you’re probably familiar with the most common Rolex Day-Date variants. But, have you ever seen a bark finish and factory-set diamond bezel? The 18108 is an awesome and rare variety in finish, but the truly awe-inspiring feature is the dial

The Day-Date is, of course, best known for its shiny fluted bezel. But many more bezel variations were made, especially in the 1970s and 1980s. The ref. 18108 is one of the most uncommon variations. It features a bark-finish bezel and bracelet. Moreover, the bezel is factory-set with brilliant cut diamonds at each hour position. If all of this weren't enough, this 18108 from 1988 sports an uncommon enamel white dial with a shimmer and glossy surface one can compare to the dials with paint supplied by the "Stella" company. Please not the graphics are in gold rather than black, a subtle reminder of how prestigious this specific example is.

The original bark President bracelet is in excellent condition, with minimum stretch. This is quite a feat as these bracelets were typically worn hard and, because they are so uncommon, it is hard to find a replacement in good condition. The watch runs on Rolex’ caliber 3055 automatic movement with a handy single quickset function.
