Attractive offering of a rare and sought-after 6265 with "Sigma dial".
With a production run of over 15 years, the 6265 is one of the most prominent references in Rolex' Daytona history. As the ref. 6265 was produced for such a long time, a rather large number of dial variations are known to exist. This one sports a particular silver dial, with contrasting recessed sub dials, that has the Sigma signs next to "T Swiss T". The T indicates the use of tritium, which in this case enhances the appeal greatly, as they are all present and turned to a warm creamy hue. The Sigma signs were adopted for a brief period, by multiple brands, to indicate the use of precious metal for the markers and the hands.
This mid-70's watch, with its 4 millions serial, looks absolutely fantastic for a half-a-century old chronograph. Not only the dial remains appealing (with just a minor flaw in the right sub-dial; where a part of the 3 is missing in 30) but the 37mm case is strong too!
She naturally sports the, period correct, screw down chronograph pushers (P301) and a stainless steel bezel with an engraved tachymetric scale. The watch comes on its original stainless steel Oyster bracelet with correct end links. All in all, a wonderful 4-digit Daytona.
