There’s absolutely no need to take your beloved Royal Oak off the wrist when traveling with this amazing Dual-Time.
This first-series reference 25730BA is housed in a classic 36 mm 18k yellow gold case and features a bevy of handy complications. For the travelers and business people amongst us, the sub-register at the 6 o’clock position displays a handy second time zone so that you know exactly what time you’re calling your business/romantic partner on the other side of the world.
The dual-time complication is complemented by a date indication in a sub-register at 2/3 o’clock position and a handy power reserve indicator between the 8 and 11 o’clock positions. An interesting, and rather handy, detail on these first-series 25730s is that the power reserve was marked with hours whereas later iterations would include a stylized indicator without the numbers.
These useful complications are set against a beautiful black dial with warm gilt details, which can only be found on the first series executions of the 25730BA. The use of different textures across the dial introduces a playful sense of dynamism. The chapter ring is smooth, as are the sub-registers for the complications, whereas the center of the dial features the iconic engraved Petite Tappisserie pattern. The liveliness of the dial is enhanced even further by the architectural layering of the different parts, with the center of the dial as well as the sub-registers recessed at different depths compared to the chapter ring.
This beautiful 25730BA dates back to 1997 and comes on its original 18k yellow gold integrated bracelet. The watch and bracelet are in excellent condition and are accompanied by an extract from the Audemars Piguet archives.

Introduction

Audemars Piguet is among the holy trinity Swiss maisons d’horlogerie alongside Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. Audemars Piguet has a storied history of producing high-complication watches. It all started in 1875, when Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet founded the company in the heart of the Vallée de Joux, Le Brassus, Switzerland. This pure, rough and wild landscape, with deep, dark forests, ice-cold waters and the omnipresence of rocks and hills, provided inspiration and raw materials for the Swiss watch manufacture to develop the finest watches. Since its inception, Audemars Piguet has specialized in rare, valuable and highly-complicated watches like perpetual calendars, chronographs and chiming watches. Nowadays, the emphasis of Audemars Piguet lies on the iconic Royal Oak line.
