We love the Royal Oak. It's one of the most important and iconic watch designs. But not everyone can pull off the 39mm Jumbo Royal Oak. Thankfully, we have the modestly sized ref. 4100 as an alternative! The ref. 4100 sports the same bold angular design as the original Jumbo Royal Oak, but its 34.5 mm case size looks much better on those among us with smaller wrists. The watch, however, is far from diminutive as the integrated bracelet and the 7.5 mm thickness give it plenty of wrist presence. The grey dial dons Audemars Piguet’s classic ‘Petite Tapisserie’ graving with an applied AP logo at the 12 o’clock position, white text, and long 18k white gold applied hour markers. While there are some scratches on the bracelet, the watch is in amazing condition with razor sharp edges and bevels. The watch dates back to 1980, the very last year this reference was produced and comes with service papers from 2015. During this last revision, Audemars Piguet has replaced the dial, bracelet and clasp for newer parts.
Audemars PiguetAudemars Piguet is among the holy trinity Swiss maisons d’horlogerie alongside Patek Philippe and Vacheron Constantin. Audemars Piguet has a storied history of producing high-complication watches. It all started in 1875, when Jules Louis Audemars and Edward Auguste Piguet founded the company in the heart of the Vallée de Joux, Le Brassus, Switzerland. This pure, rough and wild landscape, with deep, dark forests, ice-cold waters and the omnipresence of rocks and hills, provided inspiration and raw materials for the Swiss watch manufacture to develop the finest watches. Since its inception, Audemars Piguet has specialized in rare, valuable and highly-complicated watches like perpetual calendars, chronographs and chiming watches. Nowadays, the main emphasis of Audemars Piguet lies on the iconic Royal Oak line.
