But look closer.

It's the sixties in New York City, picture someone searching for the perfect gift for either a loved one or just themselves to perhaps celebrate a special occasion. Strolling on Fifth Avenue and walking past the Tiffany & Co store. Looking through the windows and seeing the perfect gift. A Rolex.

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date is considered to be an "entry-level" model out of the Rolex line-up. However, as we can all see here, this reference 1500/8 is nothing but entry-level as it is not executed in your typical steel but rather in the extremely rare 14k yellow gold. Back in the day this alloy was used for the American market as the import tax on 18k gold metals was incredibly expensive.

Then the star of the show, not the stunning silver factory dial that has some nice aging to it but the subtle 'Tiffany & Co' stamp right above the SCOC. The Tiffany stamp combined with the 14k yellow gold case and rare riveted Oyster bracelet indicate that this watch in fact came from the 5th Avenue Tiffany Landmark store. This example dates back to 1966 and is in good condition. The 7205 bracelet with 57 end-links, with matching year, still survived pretty well.

To whomever is looking to buy this beautiful New York City story, now is your chance. Another beautiful piece we are happy to have in our collection.
